This mid century abstract landscape is painted on a fine Belgium linen with a heavy application of textured gesso. There are several drawings on the back which were likely the beginnings of another piece. Originally from a collector in Paris who later moved to New York City, and painted in the 1960s.
There is no signature and no identifying markings.

Size of support: 40” x 48”
Period of creation: c. 1960’s
Condition: It is newly stretched on thick stretcher bars, the linen is slightly off square. Paint has been consolidated, surface cleaned, several small spots of inpaint, fresh coat of dammar varnish.
