Every oil painting we offer has been carefully researched, cleaned, and restored for the collector’s peace of mind. We consider pieces from estates worldwide to find works that intrigue the imagination and remain in our memory, pictures that are often overlooked because of their discolored varnish and centuries of grime. Once in our hands each painting is carefully examined and properly treated. Anything we have listed is in its optimal archival state to be collected and enjoyed without worry.

We do not restore works on paper, but we ensure that they are housed in museum quality conservation materials.

Our jewelry acquisitions are determined by careful research and fine estate pieces that make our hearts skip a beat. We search for pieces that strike a connection with us, jewelry with a story to tell, including pieces that deserve to have new life breathed into them through carefully planned conversions. We want our clients to fall in love just as much as we do, discovering one of their most prized possessions worthy to be a future family heirloom. All of our pieces are carefully cleaned and restored, then stored in velvet pouches filled with the softest cotton, ready to be prized, worn, and adored.

Alexis Geddes (Painting Restoration, Acquisition)

Alexis grew up in a house that had paintings and drawings hung salon style, floor to ceiling art, all part of her father’s extensive collection. Studying the walls as a young child sparked a love and fascination that has only increased over time. Even as an adolescent she was more concerned with collecting art than browsing the mall.

She completed her undergraduate degree in history and sociology from University of Maryland Baltimore County, studying abroad and collecting art from all over Europe. After graduation she turned her focus to pursuing her love of oil painting. Alexis completed a four-year apprenticeship under one of Baltimore’s premier painting conservators, and a seven-year apprenticeship under one of the region’s most sought-after frame conservators. In 2012 she started her own painting restoration business, Stone Hill Restoration, and developed an exclusive and loyal client base. Alexis is an active member of the American Institute for Conservation.

In the fall of 2022, the idea of acquiring and restoring art for sale emerged, and planning with her longtime friend, Jennifer Di Folco, began in earnest.

Jennifer Di Folco (Business Operations, Acquisition)

Jennifer’s love and affinity for jewelry began at a very young age. Waiting for her Nonno and Nonna to come back home from a trip to Italy with a special piece of jewelry just for her is a feeling and memory that will stay with her forever. Sorting through the velvet pouches of gold and gemstones with excitement that only a child can experience is something she holds dear to her heart. Just like the provenance of a charming old painting, the history and story of each piece of jewelry is what truly captured Jennifer’s imagination and curiosity as a young girl. Throughout her adolescence and into adulthood, that passion and curiosity only grew stronger, until she finally made the leap to create a business out of something she loves to do.

Culture is the foundation of art. Jewelry is art. Jennifer’s educational background in languages allows her to intuitively gain access to the intangible aspects of jewelry and art—the things people don’t necessarily see at first. It’s that insight and ability to cut through the sea of pieces and find those gems for her clients that sets her apart. She has two undergraduate degrees in Italian Language & Literature and Spanish Language & Literature from The University of Maryland College Park. Jennifer studied abroad in Italy, exploring and gaining valuable knowledge from jewelers across Rome, Florence, and beyond, and she eventually forged lifelong friendships with various jewelers throughout Italy. She has worked in foreign language education, publishing, real estate, and fine jewelry sales. She is also an active member of The Association for the Study of Jewelry and Related Arts (ASJRA). Jennifer continues to work in Maryland real estate as well, where she can nurture her love of historic architecture and design. An avid collector of jewelry for over 30 years with a particular affinity for antique jewelry, she is a lifelong learner of the history of jewelry and how it can be used as a window into cultural and historical exploration. Ultimately, for Jennifer, jewelry is a limitless expression of oneself. She’s passionate about bringing new life to old estate objects, which can be loved and cherished again in a way that creates renewed meaning and excitement once more.

Without hesitation, Jennifer jumped at the opportunity to partner up with her dear friend Alexis. Together, they hope to share their longtime passions with others and inspire their clients in new and meaningful ways.
