A captivating depiction of two Daughters of Charity with two priests, done in the manner of Italian artist Giorgio de Chirico (b. 1888-d. 1978). Painted on coarse linen, the rich and boldly pigmented shapes keep the eye moving through the surrealist composition.

Condition notes: Painting surface has been freshly cleaned and a new varnish applied. Several small areas of inpaint throughout, otherwise unlined and in very good condition. There is a slight buckle in the linen along the center part of the lower stretcher bar, likely from the gesso or paint drying to the support when it was originally painted. Housed in a two part contemporary custom made frame.
