This mid-century landscape by internationally listed French artist Gerald Passet (b. 1936 d. 2013) depicts a vibrant harbor in Brittany. Passet painted in an impressionist style often depicting his landscapes and still lifes in geometrically simplified shapes. Passet studied under Marcel Roch and was the director of Yves Brayer’s studio. His works are in the collections of the French Government, the City of Paris, The Modern Art Museum of Paris, and The Museum Cantini.

Condition notes: The paint layer has been freshly cleaned and a coat of protective dammar varnish has been applied. There were no original keys, so contemporary keys have been furnished. The linen and ground are sound, with one small loss in upper left corner that has been filled and inpainted.
